Rental Overview & Route Details

Kayaking the mangrove tunnels at Lido Key is a true bucket-list experience when visiting Sarasota. Our three-hour kayak rentals give you the freedom to explore the mangrove tunnels and waterways of Sarasota Bay at your own pace.

Launch from Ted Sperling Nature Park and paddle into the winding mangrove tunnels that make this area so unique. Glide beneath the shaded mangrove canopy, explore interconnected waterways, and take your time enjoying one of Sarasota’s most beautiful natural areas.

Outside the tunnels, you can paddle around Otter Key and explore the surrounding shallow grass flats and deeper channels. Keep an eye out for local wildlife along the way, including manatees, dolphins, coastal birds, fish, rays, and other marine life. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but there’s always something interesting to discover on the water.

With three full hours, there’s plenty of time to explore without feeling rushed. Before you launch, our team will provide a brief paddling orientation along with a map highlighting the mangrove tunnels and popular paddling routes.

Never kayaked before? You can absolutely still enjoy the experience, but if you’d rather have a local expert lead the way, point out wildlife, and take care of the navigation, our Guided Lido Key Mangrove Tunnel Tour is a great option.

Reserve your kayak online and explore Lido Key at your own pace!
