SPEND YOUR DAY EXPLORING THE BEAUTIFUL WATERS OF SARASOTA BAY!

At Paradise Adventures, we are avid kayakers and provide Sarasota Bay with guided tours and rentals so that you can experience the waterways that we are known for! Often times, people ask us about the difference between our kayaking services and a canoeing experience that they have had somewhere in the past. Although very similar, there are quite a few differences between kayaks and canoes, so we are breaking down some of them for you so you can be a little more educated before coming out on your kayak tour with us.

Sarasota Kayak Rental

Actually, kayaking is considered a type of canoeing and has a lot of the same traits as a canoe. Some of the details that they have in common are the fact that they are both lightweight boats & are able to travel in shallow water. Also, they are both operated by people and fueled by paddling – unless you upgrade to one with a motor.

If you are wondering what sets the two boats apart, here are some facts:

In a canoe, you generally sit or kneel, while in a kayak you sit with your legs outstretched in front of you.
Canoes are considered open decked, which gives more space for people to move about and store things inside. Kayaks are close decked, which makes them more stable and less likely to flip over.
Kayaks are generally more streamlined & used much more for speed and sport as they tend to be faster.
